pixelzimmer [2023] is a theater piece for children by kompanie freispiel. It is about a possible future, when everything becomes 'intelligent'. It is very funny too.

 

My contribution consisted of a series of small robotic platforms and other networked objects, allowing parts of the stage design to become 'characters'.

 

The robots can perform in several modes: roam freely, follow IR torch, line-following etc. They can also be operated manually. They all share an interface utilising Art-Net protocol, which allows them to be 'played' like an instrument. They are all equipped with lights indicating different 'moods'.
